About This Web site
Protecting your Privacy Online
The Washington Music Teachers Association is committed to protecting your privacy online.
Visitors to our site need not provide any information to access the content within WMTA-DC.org. Our pages can be visited, music event forms downloaded, and resource information gathered on a completely anonymous basis
For those who want to participate in our programs, the site offers contact emails to chairpersons of each event, as well as downloadable forms. These forms are to be printed by you and submitted to the WMTA outside of the site. Personal information is not collected electronically on this site.
The content on this site, while it concerns the support of the musical education of children, is meant for a primarily adult audience. Still, the site is child-safe, and complies with COPPA, the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. This U.S. law, signed October 1998, protects the privacy of children by controlling the personal information that can be collected from children online. WMTA-DC.org does not collect personal information from children or adults online.
As do nearly all web sites, www.WMTA-DC.org does collect computer non-personal information for the purposes of analyzing the effectiveness of the site. This information does not allow us to identify your name, e-mail address, or other personal characteristics. Non-personal information includes the number assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet (IP address), and the type of browser you use.
None of this non-personal information allows us to identify or contact you. By gathering this information, we can learn, among other things, how many people visit www.WMTA-DC.org, which pages are most frequented and useful, and thus we can focus on improving them.
Any changes or additions to this web site that might affect this policy will be clearly announced on this site on the home page.
